Temple Youth Celebration

The Temple Youth Celebration was a really big deal.  There were about 1200 youth from all over the temple district brought together for the cultural event for the prophet.  While they were all here, they put on a Youth conference for them for the time they weren't rehearsing.  Our little part was helping with the temple grounds tours.  They thought we (Dad and I) would do about 6 each, but we ended up doing 3 before we had to leave.  It was hard to know because the rehersal schedule was the most important part .

 Here is one of the groups we were with for about 25 minutes before they moved on to other activities.

The evening of the performance, President Monson talked to the youth before they performed.  They loved his sense of humor and were thrilled at his response to their hard work.

 The performance included some about the northwest, the history of the church in BC, and the different cultures that have come to Canada.



This one below was very cool. It was celebrating the trans-Canada railroad and was performed by all guys...stamping, banging, and hollering. Lots of fun.

The one below was the raising of the temple to the sound of the children's choir singing "I love to See the Temple" and then the youth choir joining in singing another song.  It was so beautiful.

The one below is where they are waving at the Prophet  and he was waving at them...and flashing his Canadian flag pin. They had such natural youthful exhuberance and delight at seeing the Prophet and having some interaction with  him.....a very fun evening.
