Visit from Mike and Carly

We were excited to hear Mike was coming home for a visit in the Fall....and fun to have him bring his girlfriend, Carly.  He was excited to show her Vancouver, so we prayed for good weather so we could be out and about this beautiful city.  We picked them up from the Vancouver Airport, which gave us a jump start to some activities since we were half way to Vancouver.  We went to Canada Place, checked out the cruise ship ready to leave for Hawaii, and went to Fly Over Canada. Very cool!

Then we walked down Gastown, checking out some shops and looking for a place to eat.

Gastown is so cool at night. We should do that more often!!  People, come visit us so we can do that!
Lynn Canyon was another traditional stop! Nice to go this time of year when it wasn't too crowded.

I love all the colored leaves and the roots everywhere.

Then we went to Stanley Park. Doing big bubbles at Prospect Point was quite novel! It certainly attracted people taking pictures.  I know.... we should have put out our hat like the the Chinese violin player, who was very good and added to the ambiance of the place.  It was a pretty cool place to do the big bubbles over the edge.  You didn't have to move; the wind blew them out!

Then further around the park to the playground area, they found a good place to set up the slack line.  No pictures of David and my lame attempts.

Over by the playground we found some kids to entertain with the bubbles.

On our way to meet Mike and Carly at the game.  They were at Granville Island.
David got four tickets from his boss for the Canucks game!!  We were all very excited and the seats were awesome.  Mike said those seats were going to ruin all the other games he goes to.  Fun night, and we won!!

Nice little walk at Watershed Park.  Checking out the spiders.

Granville Island is one of our favorite places with the huge market, and all the artsy shops.
The broom shop was cool.  They get the straw from Mexico.
Happy father and son!

His shirt matches the surroundings!  Beautiful day!!
