Science World and Granville Island

Thursday May 24th we went downtown Vancouver to the Telus World of Science.

Lots of fun activities for all of us.

 Leah was a great little volunteer!  We got a video of the rest.....as her hair started rising, she giggled so cute!

 This was a fun wall putting the balls in the bottom and seeing them pulled up through the tubes and spit out the top.

 Dan was a fast reacter!

 Brian got off work about the time we finished at Science World, so he drove down and met there.  Dad took his car home and the rest of us went to Granville Island for the evening.

 I love the puppets at the Kids Toy Store....so does Brian.

Burnaby Heritage Village and Centennial Beach

Friday, May 25th we went to the Burnably Heritage Museum village.  It had been years since we'd been there so it was fun to explore it.  It was a relaxing wander through the little village on a beautiful day.  We really did luck out with our weather while the family were here.  

We loved the old carrosel that had been saved from demolition and restored.  All the horses were carved out of wood and painted.  It also really moved!  These were the best pictures we got while it was going.

We went home, picked up Brian, gathered a hotdog dinner and headed to Centennial Beach in Tsawwassen.      It was nice but a little cool.  The tide was WAY out....you could hardly see the water's edge, but it came back in while we were there which is always fun. 

 The kites were great there...just the right amount of wind.  James held on very well.

James loved the water but got very cold and needed some warmth!

 We played at the playground for awhile, just taking our time.....not realizing that Chris and Amy were at home waiting for us to return to surprise us!!  So fun!

Lynn Canyon and Stanley Park

May 26th

We had a picnic lunch before heading on our hike.  Dad wasn't with us because he had a stake meeting he needed to attend, but when he got to the meeting at noon, he found out he didn't need to be there, so he got on his motorcycle and came over to be with us for a while before going back to another meeting.  Unfortunately, we never met up.  At least he got a great ride on a beautiful day.

 Each kid needed a hiking stick.....very important we found out.

 Everyone loved playing by the water with only the kids brave enough to get their feet in the cold water.

  We then headed for Stanley Park to continue enjoying the beautiful day....like everyone else!  It was very crowded.  We let the kids play at the playground before walking down to the beach.

 This was the big event of the afternoon......Annie pointed at a bee on the sand and then instinctively, Fos stepped on it; I guess forgetting he didn't have shoes on.  Don't think he'll do that again.  But in a few minuted, he was playing like nothing happened.  I remember a couple years ago when I stepped on a bee, it hurt for 2 days!
