Welcome Baby Owen and Halloween at Scott's

After our visit in Cardston, we headed south to Utah.  Baby Owen Joseph Walton was born on October 23, the day we left for Cardston, so we were anxious to get down there and see this little guy (5 lbs 3 oz).  He's just a darling baby!

Isn't he a little angel!

It was so fun to be at Scott's for the Halloween festivities. Pumpkin carving was the first night.

 Great jack-o-lantern, Brian

With a brand new baby in arms, Elisha and Scott set to work preparing their kid's costumes!

Just down their street lives these turkeys!  They are pretty impressive turkeys!

A Visit to Cardston

Grandpa hasn't been doing very well, so David and I hurriedly planned a trip to Cardston "on our way" down to Utah to welcome new Baby Owen.  We didn't know it, but the rest of the family were coming too.  It was good to be there to visit with both of them.  Grandma's dementia has been getting worse.  We enjoyed some time with her though where she could enjoy having her children there.

We sang some of the old family songs that she loved and she smiled and tapped her foot.
Grandma  appreciated playing Crokinole with David.  She could remember how to play and score, and beat him 3 games!

Lindsay, Smith and Reed came down with Dianne.  Smith is singing a song to his Great Grandpa.
It was so good to spend a little time with Grandpa.  His body is failing, but his mind is good. He has a hard time breathing and talking because his lungs have fluid and growths in them and he is in a lot of pain, but he is trying to be positive and patient.   He received a blessing from his sons by his request.

David did the Lion Hunt with Smith for his first time...he loved it and wanted his Grandpa Jeff to learn it so he would do it with him. It was fun to do it with Bryce, Jim and Janet, who also grew up with Uncle Dan doing it for them.  They had some different memories.
It was great to visit and visit with these great people!  It isn't often enough that we are all together.

Jeff had flown down from Calgary Sunday morning, had dinner with us, visited with Grandpa, then flew back with Lindsay, Smith and Reed on a very windy day!!  We were worried about how he could fly in that wind, but he did it just fine.
