Trip to Germany -1st Day

David and I flew into Frankfurt September 21st at 6:20 am.  Chris was there to meet us and drive us to their place on the autobahn, which took a little over an hour.   David immediately had so much fun looking at the vehicles over there.  Lisa and the little boys welcomed us and we got a tour of their  lovely home.

We then took a nap and when the other kids got home from school, they woke us up and we were on our way to our first adventure.  We drove into Heidelberg somewhere and visited the Schwetzingen Palace Gardens.  It was a gorgeous day and a gorgeous place. (check Lisa's blog for more great pictures)

There were several other buildings on the palace grounds.  This mosque was one of them.  Very cool

So fun to be with our Johnson grandkids!
The girls.
Pretty interesting trimming of the trees here.
After dinner that evening, we went for a walk down thier street to the open fields.   The corn was high in some fields.  They have a great place to ride bikes and enjoy the country scenes.

We managed to stay awake until about 9 that night so that made a great 1st day!

Day 3 Summer Fun in Reno

We started Saturday off with a game of soccer.  Annie's first soccer game.  She did great!

Love her concentration with her little tongue sticking out.
Happy soccer girl.
After Leah's first soccer game, we went out for frozen yogurt! Isn't she a cute little soccer player.
This is the ping pong table that Mike found on Craig's List and he and Dad went and picked it up and had it ready for some great competitions.

Fos doesn't know quite what to think of all this show!...
.....while Elisha is out still running!
Mike doing a little long-boarding on the back of the van.
The great water-fight that started by the little kids attacking Grandpa....so fun!  (Amy got good pictures of that part).

Here's a little of Mike long-boarding in Reno.

Day 2 of Summer Fun at Tahoe

Day two we drove up to Lake Tahoe for a wonderful day at the beach.  The water was clean and cool and beautiful.
It's a little chilly to start with.
The two blow up boats were great!

 Cute little heads!
We broke camp later in the afternoon and walked over to another area where there were cool big boulders and a great place to cliff jump.  What a beautiful place.
We all have our own Sasha interpretation.

Day 1 of Walton Summer Fun in Reno

Thursday, August 18th was our first day all together (except Johnsons).  We headed to the Reno Waterpark which Dan and Sarah hadn't been to yet and it was a great hot day.  We took the kids to the kiddie area first and they had a great time.  Leah and Annie would check in and say "Hi Grandma!" everytime they walked by with their tubes...so cute!
I was excited to sit and get some sun on that white skin, and watch the little ones.
The little guys loved the sandbox!

Here's David in his volleyball--water slide attire.  He sets his own style!  Notice them all wearing their flip-flops or shoes.  The sand was coarse and it hurt.

Jump #1
Jump #2
We had to wait quite awhile for our table for dinner even though we had a reservation.....but it was worth it!
After dinner we went back to the water park for a game of mini-golf.  It was a beautiful evening and very fun place.  Had a great time.
Here are the winners of each team after the play-off hole.
Great Day #1!!
