Temple Open House

The Vancouver Temple Open House has been on from April 7th to the 24th. The enthusiasm and spirit there was wonderful and it was such a blessing and privilege to be apart of. The final total of visits came in at 39,341. We have already heard wonderful stories of less actives and non members being touched to come and learn more.
Dad spent a couple of days helping with the parking. Even that was a great experience. He got quite a sunburn the day he was there all day.

I got to help with the VIP tours' refreshments for two days. It was great to work with old friends and great women.

The cultural hall was transformed into a beautiful reception area. When the main crowds came through, they took some of those tables away because they took up too much space, and because they were just serving cookies....very good cookies.

We went to a nearby park one afternoon...nice to get out and play in the sunshine. Sarah was
happy to sit and rest outside for a change.

Welcoming New Baby James

There is nothing like a tiny newborn. What a blessing and joy, and I'm so grateful to have been able to go and get introduced to Baby James Daniel Walton. He was born on March 30 in Columbus, Ohio. He seems like a very contented baby, and he's handsome too.

Easter at the Ohio Waltons

I am really slow at getting these posted...not sure why because it was sooo much fun. I can't think of anything more fun than spending Easter weekend doing Easter activities with two darling granddaughters. This is Easter morning before General Conference ....that doesn't start until noon back there. Nice haul.

A few days before we colored eggs, which is always fun to see those white eggs suddenly change into pinks, blues, and yellows.

We also made Easter sugar cookies and iced them. Yes, we did messy projects.....all of them.

Dan and Sarah's friends hosted a egg hunt and lunch for a bunch of families. Kids running everywhere....very cute and fun.

Here are the masterpieces....and they tasted good even if they were fatter than I usually make.

1972 European Tour

I recently took my BYU Folkdance Europe Tour slides into a place to get them put on a CD so I could actually see them once in a while. Some were in really bad shape, others just a little blurry, but still fun for me to see them and relive my memories. It was such a fun and wonderful experience for me to be apart of. Here are a few pictures that were clear enough to see.

Vancouver Olympics 2010--Downtown

Friday we took the Skytrain downtown to roam around with the crowds. We got on at the first stop, so we got to sit at the front and 'drive'.

It was crazy and crowded and hoards of people walking down the middle of the streets. It was great!

The red mittons were the thing to have. They were cozy and warm and so cute. They were everywhere. Fun day.

Olympics--O Zone and shopping

Wednesday we went early to Richmond O Zone to check out
the things to see and do there, plus go to the Dutch Exhibit. We think it would have been more exciting later on when things got going more and there were more people, but it was nice to only stand in line for about 20 minute for the Hineken House.

Mike and Scott did a test drive of some sort.

And the girls decided to try out a bobsled run. Lisa and Chris also tried the snowboarding in the background.

Then we walked over to the mall for lunch and some shopping. Here Grandpa is entertaining the kids while some of us are trying on red sweaters....which we bought.
