Christmas 2011

 We had a little birthday celebration for Mike when he got home.  One of his presents was a whole bunch of his ties that I narrowed for him.  He was happy.

We went downtown Vancouver Thursday afternoon.  We stopped first at the Vancouver library. (below)

 Then we headed to the outdoor German Christmas Market.  It was fun but not as big as I expected.

 Fun little shops to visit.  We recognized so much from Germany but the prices were higher.

 Christmas Morning excitement is always the same even if there are fewer people and presents.

Christmas Eve dinner with some invited  friends.  Elder and Sister Healey, and the Hatch family.  Catherine is one of our YSA who joined the church this past year, here with her Dad and sister.

More Thanksgiving Weekend and Bunker Reunion

More fun activities were that weekend were shopping, going out for dinner, playing games, more eating pie and leftovers, trampolining, playing at the park, and Wii.   That is what Scott and Mike are doing here.  Sarah and I did  one where we had to jump and squat and dodge.  I was actually a little sore the next day.  Not as sore as all the people who played volleyball for 3 hours though.

 Nicole Parker Redford was finally coaxed into performing a one-woman show of impersonations and song. She was great!  We all loved the impersonation she did of her mother-in-law......perfect.

Saturday morning was the Bunker Reunion.  It traditionally starts with a foot race because Grandpa Bunker was a runner. Our family was well-represented....Scott, Elisha, Amy, Chris, and Mike.

 My cousin, Lowell Bunker, and his family.  The one not there is in the picture he is holding.  He is on a mission and serving in the Delta Ward.  Fun, huh.

 Uncle Ferren couldn't be at the reunion, so we went to the hospital for a visit.

It was a wonderful Reunion...Polley and Bunker.  I love my family so much!!

Las Vegas Thanksgiving

It was the year for another Polley Reunion in Las Vegas at Thanksgiving.  What a wonderful tradition that is!   We all gathered at Jim's home, and were also blessed to have use of their neighbor's home to stay in.

We loved being with all the family.....but missed Johnsons, Becky, Jed, and Dastrups.

We played the traditional volleyball on Thanksgiving morning.

Th traditional thanksgiving feast was a hit.

After dinner we went to the cemetery in thanksgiving and as a tribute and memory to Grandma and Grandpa Polley.  It is certainly because of them that we are all together as a wonderful family unit.

The Thompsons....wish we had gotten one of all the Waltons there, but missed doing that.

That evening, we listened to the story of Grandma and Grandpa Polley's lives, then Jim, Susan, Jennifer and I told of memories of Mom and Dad.  That was fun, but too emotional, and too many things missed being said, and others that probably weren't needed.  Jamie was filming the whole thing so that will be interesting to see at some point.  Hopefully he can make it better than it was.

We had a multiplicity of pies that night!  and the days to follow.

There was also the ping pong tournament going on during the weekend.  Lots of fun watching and playing.

Mark was the bigger winner this year.  Scott came in second, and Seth third.
