The Friday before Conference, Susan and Bill, Jim and Susan, Jennifer and Mike later, and David and I, left from Thompson's home to head up Provo Canyon to Sundance. I hadn't been there for many years, and this was a perfect time to go again. The weather was perfect, and the leaves were turning colors. We went to the Christensen's cottage......James Christensen, the artist! Mike and Jennifer are good friends with them and they let us come and see, visit, and eat there. What a fun, magical place that is.
He has all kinds of cool details that are just his style.
We are visiting with James Christensen here in his living room.... He's a fun person to visit with....and then he says he has to go get back to painting, and opens the bookcase up and goes into his studio. How cool is that! We got to go in and see the painting he is doing and hear him talk about it.
See doorway to the left.
The kitchen has hand-painted cupboards.
The playroom was on the third floor and to get to it you had to go up a very narrow windy staircase...like it was made for children or something. The bedroom above had a half circle bed with a dome ceiling above it painted like a night sky. And here is the balcony from the playroom.
After lunch we headed over to the Sundance Ski lift and took it to the top where we started our two hour hike back to the cottage.
We stopped by Steward Falls.
Isn't this beautiful country?
We had a great day. Thanks to Jennifer for setting it all up and providing wonderful food. We need to plan another one sometime.
