It was cold and windy in Alberta, but still beautiful.
So when we got to Cardston, we found out that we should have hurried more, because Dianne and Jeff had flown down from Calgary for a visit and had to be back by sundown (he only has his pilot's lisence for daytime. So we had a quick visit and dinner, and then left in time for David and Grandpa to go up for a little fly over Cardston, then dropped them off and Dianne and Jeff were on their way.
Grandpa was going so fast on this machine, that I didn't get a very good picture, but it shows you why he is doing as well as he is for 90!! He does 30 reps a day. He says it's a good workout for him.
Then on the way home, we had our traditional visit to a car repair shop, adding another little town to list of memorable stops. With that little car problem, we had to stay overnight so Mike drove up to meet us, eat dinner (twice) and go to a movie. That was a nice perk. The next afternoon we were on our way back to the good ole Northwest!!

I love taking the time to explore little towns you pass through. Dad, that is SO COOL that you got to go up in Jeff's plane, and great that you got to spend some time with grandma and grandpa. I'm sad they didn't come down to Utah this weekend.
Looks like a fun little trip! You documented everything very well. So fun that Diane and Jeff can just fly on down in their little plane! And I love the playing cards picture . . . . I'm guessing that Grandma lost? haha.
So fun. I love that you take so many pictures. Keep it up! Grandma and Grandpa Walton look really good!
Mary, What a fun blog to see! I had no idea you two had gone to Cardston. I have never even seen Grandma's brothers; I am so glad you took pictures. And my first reaction to your comment about your usual stop at a car repair -- "What a strange place to love to visit . . ." thinking it was like a motorcycle shop for Jim. Well done! So fun to see Grandma and Grandpa and Jeff's plane, which I hadn't ever seen either. Thanks for sharing.
