Friday afternoon we drove up to Waterton Park...about an hours drive west. The scenery was so beautiful driving through the foothills and into the mountains. It had turned cool that day with some rain on and off, so we took whatever jackets we could....which wasn't quite enough, but set out for some fun at the Redrock Canyons to "play in the water"... At least that was the plan when we thought it would be hot out.
It is such a fun place with just the right amount of water for the kids. We did get some soakers ....which was very cold. The sun came out a few times and it warmed up, then the rain would start again....but really not til we were back in the vans and driving. We were lucky.

We left that area and drove into the little town of Waterton and walked around the Prince of Wales Hotel. It's very European inside.... which we all would know.....having been there. Outside on the bluff was soooo windy! Fun.
We drove down to the village and the famous waterfall, and that's where Fos became too friendly with an unfriendly chipmunk! He got about that close, and the chipmunk turned and jumped up and bit him. Poor little guy. It scared him and hurt him!
That's Brian in the bushes, getting a close up shot with his new lens.
We watched and followed some deer for a bit, then were on our way back to Cardston. There's a baby under that mother. So cute.
We did stop at the ice cream place we always stop at after Waterton. They give big scoops!
Not the best shots....but shows what it was like anyways. It was a fun day!!
