Venice

We drove from the villa to Venice the next day, taking about an hour and a half, parked in a large parking garage, and took this taxi boat to the main dock area at the end of the Grand Canal......I think.  We were pretty excited to see Venice!

What a fun, unique place!!   We thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it, except the 1.50 euro for the toilettes.
St Mark's Basilica in St Mark's Square.

Below is the famous Rialto Bridge.

Above picture is taken near the bridge, and below is on top of the bridge.  There are soooo many bridges, but this one is bigger and has shops all across it.  In the distance is the market where the shopping is a little cheaper.  I bought a scarf there.  The many other shops were very expensive and very cool!!

Every turn is another picturesque view.....very charming....very Italian....and old.

Cute family picture!  Love the leg.

 I love the colors!

These masks were everywhere.  Megan and Emily were excited to get permission to purchase one.

A little, needed rest and snacks time.

The bridge below was built not that long ago and was controversial because of it's modern look that didn't quite fit in.  Sun is starting to go down at the end of our day.  It was dark by the time we got back to the car.

 Beautiful Venice!!
