Drive through the Dolomites

When we woke up Wednesday morning, this beautiful day greeted us.  This is the place we were staying at.
This is the view from our balcony, and below is the view from Johnson's balcony.

We had the buffet breakfast before hitting the road south to Italy.   Are you feeling ok, Chris?

The Honda Odyssey  followed the Audi through beautiful country.  Emily was diligently doing her homework in the van as were Ryan and Katie in the car.

These were just places we stopped to take pictures because it was just so gorgeous!!
We got off the Autobahn and climbed up a very windy road...up, up up!...it was so amazing how windy and steep it was, and no shoulder, and buses and trucks were also on the road!
We got out at the town of  Castelrotto, Italy at the foot of the Dolomite mountains.  It was cold and beautiful.  We enjoyed walking around this quaint  ski resort town.

Unique graveyard with little flower gardens on the plots....and lots of wrought-iron.
What great grandkids!!  Look how tall Ryan is getting.
