Day trip to Victoria

Dan picked a great day to go to Vancouver Island!  10% chance of rain, but was more like 40%, which we saw and felt during the day, but great sunshine for the ferry trip over.  Too much sunshine for James!

From the ferry, we drove straight over to Butchart Gardens.  It had bee Years!! since Id been there, like when I was 12 when my family went to the Seattle World's Fair.  It is certainly breathtakingly beautiful.  Would have been even better in the summer though.

Kate wants to do everything everyone else is doing...like taking pictures of flowers.  And she does it quite well too.

James just sat down a random place and was ready for a picture!

We decided they needed a little practice doing the Sasha. It had been a while since we did that.
 Happy father and son

We drove into Victoria and headed to the Red Fish Blue Fish fish and chips place.  It is a popular place so we stood in line for about half hour.  That is when the first rains hit us, but the meal was great!

Then we wandered through the downtown stopping in a few stores.
Fan Tan Alley is a fun place....narrow alley with cool shops...felt very Harry Potter.

Beginning of China Town, but we didn't go much further.
We started walking toward the Parliment Building.  Beautiful view.

Then a little horsing around before heading back to the ferry and home.
 Fun day on the Island!!
